Bill
Name, age, suburb, occupation?
Bill Gallina, 41, Highland Park, Gold Coast. Sales Manager and Chief Creator at #bilzasbrickbuilds.
What are your very first memories of LEGO toys?
My first memory of having LEGO sets was Fabuland and the classic space sets.
What’s your favourite LEGO theme, if you have one, and why (ie. Star Wars, Harry Potter, City, Friends, Classic Space, Creator etc)?
My favourite themes are City and Creator, but my ultimate favourite theme growing up was 90s Pirates.
Do you MOC? If so, describe your best ever MOC?
Yes! I mainly do City-style MOCs with modular scale buildings that span multiple tables, which I display regularly at various event shows. Although I have switched it up of late to include a full, table-sized castle layout and three-foot LEGO fish tank.
Describe your current or most recent LEGO project?
I’m currently working on a secret double-table-sized MOC for the second half of the 2020 shows, so stay tuned ?
Dream big. If you could build anything out of LEGO bricks, what would that dream build be?
I’d love to have a go at a large-scale historic colosseum, or a giant modern-day baseball stadium.
If you were building yourself as a LEGO Minifigure, what would be the defining characteristic or LEGO accessory that your sigfig would have, that would make it so you?
It would be either Red Brick Guy or Hotdog Man – they’ve always been my favourites. As for accessories, there are so many cool ones to choose from so pretty much anything other than stud shooters. I hate those things, haha.
Weirdest place/s you’ve ever seen or discovered a LEGO brick?
I actually found a red space helmet whilst snorkelling in Cairns about 20 years ago. Still have it somewhere, too.
Complete this sentence: I know I’m a total LEGO geek/fanatic because...
I have a dedicated trailer for LEGO shows and my LEGO room is the largest room in the house – and you still can’t move around in there, haha.
Tell us about your history/experience with BrickResales? What do you love most about BrickResales?
I absolutely love BrickResales events and look forward to them when building. I always attend with a mindset of what I need for the current project, and end up leave with so many more pieces for future projects that I didn’t know I needed. It’s like the pieces randomly speak to me during my search.
